Warm Weather is Here Again: Please dress appropriately. Please make sure your children are wearing appropriate clothing for school, not the beach. Inappropriate tank tops halter tops, spaghetti straps (straps must be a minimum of two inches), and midriff revealing tops are not acceptable for school, nor are tops that do not completely cover undergarments. Also, two tank tops do not make an appropriate top. Short shorts and hip huggers are not allowed. Shorts must be no shorter than mid-thigh or fingertips. Students who choose not to follow our dress code will be given a school provided outfit to wear and will receive a Lunch Time Enrichment. Please see the Handbook for more information.
REMINDER FOR PARENTS OF 6th GRADERS! All 6th grade students will need to have proof of the Tdap (Whooping Cough/Pertussis) Booster Shot BEFORE entering 7th grade!!! The process is simple: After receiving the shot, bring your proof of vaccination to the front office. It will be recorded and entered into the system at that time. You will not have to do anything more! If your student has already had the Tdap vaccine anytime after their 7th birthday, you must bring your proof of vaccine to the Front Office to be recorded. That will count as their 7th grade booster shot. The process is simple, but if your student has no proof of receiving the Tdap booster prior to the beginning of the 2014-2015 School Year, they will NOT be able to attend school.
Jog-a-Thon: The Jog-a-Thon will be on Friday, April 25th. Donation envelopes were sent home two weeks ago and are due back on Tuesday, April 22nd. There will be prize drawings for participating fundraising students. PTSA is still in need of volunteers on the day of the Jog-a-Thon. Please call Jessica at (209) 570-0341 if you’d like to help!
7th Grade Parents Help on Promotion Day: The Promotion Committee is in dire need of 7th grade parents to help on Promotion day, May 29th. Please contact Angelica at (209) 663-0738 or email her at [email protected] if you are interested in helping.
Running Club: The Elkhorn Running Club will participate in a 5K at Lodi Lake on April 19th. If you would like to also participate, pick up the registration form from the office.
PTSA Meeting: The PTSA would like to remind everyone that their meetings are the first Tuesday of each month. The next one will be Tuesday, May 6th at 8am in the Elkhorn Library. Everyone, no matter your level of interest, is always welcome!
Homework Requests: Absent students are responsible for making up all missed work. Students absent for one or two days should expect to take care of missed work, tests, and assignments upon their return to school. Parents/Guardians may contact the office to request homework on the third day of an excused absence.
